Shoulder Pads for the 2022 Season

Shoulder Pads

  • Effective January 1, 2022, shoulder pads for boys’ field players must be designed for lacrosse and meet NOCSAE standard ND200. Products are now available.
  • Effective January 1, 2021, boys' and girls' goalie chest protectors must be designed for lacrosse and meet the NOCSAE standard, ND200.
  • All chest protectors and shoulder pads must contain the NOCSAE logo and SEI certification mark on both the packaging and the product to be legal for play.

If your player's shoulder pads do not meet NOCSAE standard ND200 , they will not be eligible to practice or play. 

To Ensure that your boys field player's shoulder pads meet this standard:
All products that meet the NOCSAE standard, ND200, must be certified by the independent Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) and include the NOCSAE Lacrosse label shown below. Consumers are also encouraged to check the SEI website (https://www.seinet.org/search.htm) under Program: Chest Protectors (Lacrosse) to verify that the specific brand is listed as approved.

Important Equipment Note for GIRLS Lacrosse Players

Goggles
If purchasing new goggles this season, please ensure that they are SEI certified, to be compliant with new safety standards that went into effect January 1, 2020. See the list of Certified Goggles

  • Please note that retailers may still be selling uncertified goggles that do not meet these standards. Please be sure to choose a pair with the SEI mark. Safety standards are reviewed and typically change every 3-5 years. More info on these safety standards can be found in the link

**If your athlete already has goggles that are not on the SEI list, please consider purchasing a new pair from the list.
